UPDATED: DSS Arrests UNICAL Prof. Who Was Suspended Due to Alleged S3x Scandal

According to the Department of State Service, Professor Cyril Ndifon, the former dean of the University of Calabar’s faculty of law who was charged with misconduct in a sexual relationship, was the subject of a request for assistance from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission

This was revealed in a message released on their X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday and signed by the DSS Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Peter Afunanya

Professor Ndifon was ultimately detained by ICPC agents in Calabar, Cross River State, on October 4 as a result of continuous refusal to reply to their multiple invitations, according to Afunanya. A court order was used to authorize this arrest

The Department of State Services (DSS) has been asked to assist the ICPC with its investigation into the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Sex Scandal, which involves Professor Cyril NDIFON, the former dean of the institution’s faculty of law

“The Commission had revealed that NDIFON had declined to accept its several invitations, leading to his final arrest in Calabar, Cross River State, by its agents on October 4, 2023, in accordance with a court order

“However, the Service supported it for a successful operation at the Commission’s request and in the spirit of interagency cooperation. This is to help the general public comprehend the most recent developments in the situation

This clarification follows early reports that said Professor Ndifon had been kidnapped by armed persons at his home in the Cross River state’s Akpabuyo local government area
