Staff at NIPOST challenge Tinubu, reject appointment of CEO, and shut down headquarters

Employees of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) protested in front of the organization’s Abuja headquarters to voice their displeasure with Tola Odeyemi’s selection as the new Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General

President Bola Tinubu recently declared that NIPOST had undergone leadership changes, according to the presidential spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale

However, soon after Odeyemi’s appointment became known, there were rumors that Adeyemi Adepoju, the former Post Master-General who had been fired, had been reinstated

Adepoju was seen in a widely shared video addressing some employees who claimed that Tinubu had reinstated him

The newly appointed CEO of NIPOST was barred from entering the building on Monday by the protesting staff, who claimed that her appointment was against their wishes

The employees chanted in support of Adepoju and held up signs to show their support
