Pastor who is sex-starved sues his wife and demands a N50,000 bride price refund

Pastor E. Arizechi, a preacher, filed an application with the Customary Court in Bwari, Abuja, to have his marriage to Mrs. Blessing A. annulled

Arizechi said that his wife had beaten him up and refused to let them have intercourse. In addition, he claimed that his wife did not respect him and that she had teamed up with her unmarried daughter to beat him up

The clergyman claimed that despite having brought the issue to the attention of their families, the church, and the district authorities in his own church, she had persisted

“The Respondent has denied me my conjugal right as her husband,” Arizechi claimed

“That since I married her, we have only had a few sexual encounters because she won’t let me”

To make matters worse, the cleric said that she refused to prepare meals for him once he gave her money for them

He then implored the court for a “declaration of this Hon. Court declaring the customary marriage is null and void,” as well as instructions for the wife to return the N50,000 he had paid for her and to leave his home as soon as their union was canceled

But Arizechi told the court that his church had interfered and he wanted to settle out of court when the case was brought before the three-person panel of the court, which was presided over by Honorable Uchenna Cyprian Okwuonye

After then, his attorney filed an application to withdraw the divorce, which the court denied
