NEWS: Police Detain Sam Larry After Arresting Him in Connection With Mohbad’s Death

Late on Thursday night, the Lagos State Police Command said that Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, had been taken into custody

He was detained by the police on suspicion of being involved in the death of Mohbad, a musician whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba

Nigerians cried out for the police to solve the mystery surrounding Mohbad’s strange murder on September 12th

Many Nigerians are discussing Sam Larry and singer Naira Marley on social media because they are reportedly connected to Mohbad’s passing

Naira Marley, who is currently abroad, had previously denied any involvement in Mohbad’s demise

Sam Larry is currently in arrest, the Lagos State Police Command announced late on Thursday

Sam Larry is in police custody and is actively supporting the police with their continuing investigation, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the command

“Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody,” tweeted Hundeyin. He is now supporting an ongoing investigation

Rapper, singer, and songwriter MohBad was from Lagos, Nigeria. Before leaving the label in 2022, he was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records

His most popular songs include “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry”, “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered), which he co-wrote with Rexxie and received three nominations for The Headies awards in 2022

He announced his departure from Marlian Records after two years. On October 5, 2022, MohBad accused his manager, singer Naira Marley, of assault and claimed that his former boss had given orders for individuals to beat him up as a result of his announcement that he would be hiring a new manager to handle his music and commercial matters

It was revealed after MohBad’s passing that he had complained to the police in June 2023 that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, a music promoter known as “Sam Larry” and a known Marley ally, had beaten him and damaged some of his belongings
