“I Haven’t Achieved Something Major Yet” – Wizkid Reveals


Grammy Award-winning musician Wizkid, real name Ayodeji Balogun, stated in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra that he believes his musical career is only getting started, despite his prior successes.

Wizkid feels there is still more for him in the music business, even if he has gained notoriety and achieved success in terms of streaming and chart positions.

He said that his love of music is a never-ending flame inside of him and that it transcends his breaks.

In his words;

“The journey is about to begin for Wizkid. I don’t see myself as someone who has achieved something major yet. For me, music is a forever thing”.

Notably, Wizkid holds the record for the most Grammys won by an African artist and is regarded as one of the continent’s most financially successful musicians.

In addition, he is the most streamed musician in Sub-Saharan Africa on a variety of platforms.
