Eedris Abdulkareem

Nigerian hip-hop legend Eedris Abdulkareem has opened up about the music business and his younger colleague Burna Boy.

The hitmaker for Jaga Jaga, in an unreleased segment of the well-known podcast The Honest Bunch, addressed a prevalent misconception among musicians who have won Grammy awards.

The Atlantic Records musician made headlines online in 2020 when he asserted that none of his more experienced peers had adequately prepared him for success.

Burna claims that no one in the Nigerian music industry has ever helped him because artists were too preoccupied with taking care of themselves or belittling the accomplishments of others.

An upcoming podcast including Eedris’s criticism of his younger colleague will air on Monday, February 19.

His words: “You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk.”
