Plateau

Women from the Jos South Local Government Area in Plateau State have stormed shops across many locations, stealing and damaging alcohol and related goods.

Many women attended the event, which was held in the Gyel District’s Sabon Bariki and Bukuru Low Cost neighborhoods.

The wives claim that their husbands are reckless because of these narcotics.

The women, divided into groups, were supported by young girls, kids, vigilantes, and other volunteers as they went after bars and other places that served alcohol.

Enraged women from the Plateau steal and burn wine, robbing their husbands of their “usefulness.”

Some company owners closed their doors and left when they heard about the impending raid, but the women promised to come back with even more stringent regulations.

With the support of the community and traditional leaders, the women voiced their worries that their husbands’ reckless behavior was being caused by these narcotics.

“These drinks are turning our men to irresponsible people. The drinks are weakening them; taking away their strengths and making them useless,” one of the women said.

“Our youths don’t have the strength to do menial jobs or farm to fend for themselves again. They spend most of their time in these drinking places

“Our husbands have also been weakened by the drinks, and they can no longer perform their conjugal duties in the night. Today, instead of having a man and a woman at home, we now have two women at home since our husbands cannot be called men any longer.”
