Adekunle Gold: Biography

Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko was born into the Nigerian state of Lagos’s Kosoko royal dynasty. He is a musician, songwriter, and graphic designer from Nigeria who is also known by his stage name, Adekunle Gold, or AG Baby. Early in his career, he released Sade, a version of One Direction’s Story of My Life, which catapulted him into the spotlight in 2014.

Early Life and Education

Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, the first and only son of the family, was born on January 28, 1987, and raised in Ifako-Agege and Ikotun, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a member of the Kosoko royal dynasty. For his primary and secondary schooling, he attended public schools. He then attended Lagos State Polytechnic, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design. He is related to Prince Jide Kosoko, a seasoned actor who is also a member of the Royal Kosoko dynasty.

Career

Adekunle Gold is an extremely gifted and attractive singer. His voice is distinctive and rich, and to top it all off, he is quite clever. He was known as the “King of Photoshop” after sharing an altered photoshop photograph of him hugging Tiwa Savage on social media. Before becoming renowned, he worked as a sculptor and a graphics designer. Though he hasn’t achieved what he really desired, things were going well for him as a freelance graphic designer. King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, who he listened to while growing up, served as inspiration for him as he wrote his debut song. His passion of music led him to join his church choral group, where he spent 11 years.

After “Sade” was released, Adekunle signed a music contract with YBNL Nation on March 5, 2015, and on March 5, 2016, he released his first official song, “Orente,” through the record company. He continued to release music through the label until the release of his fourth album. The eagerly anticipated “Catch Me If You Can” album by Adekunle Gold, with 14 songs and guest performances from Davido, Fatoumata Diawara, Lucky Daye, Stefflon Don, Foushee, and TY Dolla $ign, was released on February 4th, 2022.

When Adekunle Gold’s contract with YBNL came to an end, he chose not to extend it and instead started his own record company, which he named “The 79th Element” (the atomic number of gold in chemistry). The Afro Urban, which he and his crew run, was founded as a result of his steady success.

When you flip from one TV station to another, you have a better chance of seeing his record Gold because it peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard World record Chart for the week. Music by Adekunle Gold is being performed; Adele and other well-known stars have promoted his record.

Adekunle Gold has collaborated with numerous Nigerian A-list singers, including Simi, Lil Kesh, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Kiss Daniel, and Olamide.

Personal Life 

Adekunle Gold is popular with women and generally well-liked; he has a sizable fan base and stands out from other singers thanks to the caliber of his songs and the allure of his music videos. Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye (Simi), the love of Adekunle Gold’s life, and the singer wed in January 2019 after dating for more than five years.
